Impressive! Care to share a little more of your setup? Shutterspeed? Interval? Mine always come out kinda jumpy/jerky.

Well I tried different intervall times... but it's mainly 3 or 2seconds. A few shots where on 1sec.

Since the fog does not always move at the same speed, it's always a bit of guessing.

But overall I would say 2sec is probably a good value. If there is a little bit of wind and the fog moves slowly.

Well, it was all shot in manual mode of course.

Usually I had my lenses on f4, used a low ISO and adjusted the shutterspeed acordingly.

Intervall time was not the same on all shots, I was experimenting... but mostly it was on 2 or 3 seconds. Sometimes 1 second.

But in the end it depends on the speed of the wind... it's a lot of guesswork

I also came a cross a phaenomenon called "aperture flicker". Never heard of it before since I never did timelapse before... but actually if you do not use your lens fully open, the aperture closes down a bit on every shot and that can lead to flickering.

I had this problem especially with the 45mm 1.8 when using it on f4 or whatever that was not 1.8.

To avoid this kind of flicker, either shoot wide open OR use the pretty cool software called "LRTimelapse" to remove the flickering afterwards.

Wow, this is great. I usually get bored of time lapses after about 30 seconds, but this I just couldn't get my eyes away from.

Well done.

Your video makes me FEEL the nature, thank you!

Did you do the panning digitally (moving crop area), or during capture (moving camera)?

I agree with this.  Beautifully shot, and a great job of editing the good variety of shots, plus a nice finish to the not-too-long video.

I've never tried time lapse, but I'll have to keep it in mind.  Thanks to the OP for the tips.

Superb!  The best I've seen by far.  At around 1:00 the soft sea-like undulating is Impressive.

It's only digital panning/zooming.

Hi Oliver

Absolutely stunning!  I've "experimented" with time lapse, but never been very happy and not really found appropriate music - Here you've got it all right!

We have an AV evening at our photo soc. next week, may I have your permission to show it - fully credited - of course! ?

Thanks again!

Mike
