G85 IBIS from cockpit of small plane
10

I recently upgraded from the G7 to the G85. It's my first experience with IBIS of any type, and I have to say it's all I hoped it would be. I got into M4/3 largely for making aviation/pilot videos. My first camera was a G7, and though it was a great camera, I always wondered what I was missing with IBIS. Anyway, I recently put the G85's IBIS to the test while flying a small plane--this 7 second clip is filmed at 60mm (120mm equiv) with the 12-60 kit lens, holding it one handed in a bumpy cockpit. After about a second you can see the IBIS kick in, very impressive (actually it's kind of insane). The G7 is a nice camera, but if anyone is trying to decide whether it's worth throwing the extra few hundred bucks for the G85... it's so worth it!

If you want to check out the whole video of the flight to Hummel Field Airport in Virginia, it's here...

M4/3 is really proving to be the right tool for this type of content creation--where every ounce counts... Loving it!
