Steam, probably vented from the pressure relief valve.

One problem with these fixed lens cameras is that you can't zoom while also taking pictures, so you can't zoom as the train gets nearer (which would have improved that last shot). My E-mount cameras are better in those circumstances, as you can zoom out as the train comes closer.
