L is not just about IQ, although I agree this lens holds its own against some of the top Canon lenses, as far as IQ goes. In fact ive had L lenses that have not been as sharp.

Also agree that IS would be the icing no the cake.

All L-lenses are not weather-sealed either.

My M6 is clean, even after taking tens of thousands of pictures and it's over a year and a half old.  I used an "air puffer" to remove any specks of dust from it so it doesn't show up in any photographs.  But there was some dust etc in the recesses of the dials and knobs.  I used a piece of 'Blu Tack' putty to remove any stubborn dust before taking pictures of the camera and lens.
.
When not in use, my cameras and lenses are in an opaque container or a glass display to reduce the chances of dust getting into the lenses and bodies and to keep the chances of lens mold down to a minimum.
.
Always take the time to gently wipe your camera down with a barely-damp cloth if returning from either a beach or a dusty location and this will prevent problems later.  Use a microfiber lens cloth (make sure it's clean) to wipe your LCD screen etc.  Otherwise, the M6 is a fairly robustly built camera.

Need a 4 star sharp zoom. Canon gave us the 32 so ...

The 32mm is glued to my M5.  Marco's review made me take the dive and he is right.  I had the Leica T 35mm and the 32mm is every bit as good.

Now, Canon please give us a high-quality standard zoom with IS.  It does not have to be fast just sharp and with IS.  Then I will have my dream kit.

I only use a subtle amount of Noise Reduction when editing images taken with very high ISO (eg 1600-3200) but the camera does perform NR when processing JPEG images in-camera.  I don't add sharpening during editing because I feel it can be too destructive. The setting on my camera *User Defined Preference* is "FINE DETAIL" so that automatically retains quite a bit of detail to begin with.  I've also tweaked the color slightly so it's less Cyan biased.  I found the very first shots out of the camera seemed a little "blue" so that's why I altered the color setting slightly.  I usually have a slight increase in saturation with most camera settings but only very slightly.  Most color alterations can be applied via software if needed.
.
I try to capture the colors and contrast as accurately as possible within the camera.  It's a good habit to get into.  I've only shot RAW about two times in almost 2 decades.  HOWEVER, I may shoot Comet 46P/Wirtanen next week when it's brighter using RAW+JPEG just to allow me a little more flexibility.
.
I usually play with images a little after downloading them.  If I do, it's to raise details hidden in shadow (DR Recovery) and sometimes I'll adjust the color hues. Then, if I really need to, I'll apply a pass with Noise Reduction with a Photoshop pluggin.

Re: EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM is a Five Star-lens!

All of the Step-up rings came from China and none would seat properly on the threads of the lens. They'd just keep turning and turning without locking down hard on the lens. We have a theory that the same cutting dies were used for these step rings, regardless of the sellers. Additionally I had mounted 5 different filters directly on the lens without any issues

I just had mine replaced under warranty (it stopped locking focus). FYI, they do not repair this lens, only replace it with a “new or refurbished item” (and there is no way to tell which).  The replacement exhibits the exact same behavior with the step up rings. I even sent along my Fotodiox step-up ring. I was told that the service center did not support non-canon accessories and I should buy the one canon does not sell.

So, I think it’s fair to say that all of them will have this issue with step up rings.

The problem does not appear to be the lens threading because I've tried no less than 5 different 43mm filters on this lens, none of which had any problem locking down. The only problem appears to be with stepping-rings. All of which were presumably cut by the same parent-die - or were copied by one that was.
.
You know what my solution was for Stepping Rings? Mount them straight into a 43mm Filter on the front of the lens. That's exactly what I did below when shooting Comet 46P/Wirtanen last weekend and needed to mount my 77mm NiSi Natural Night Filter onto my EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM lens. It locked down tight too.
.
Solution for loose stepping rings?  Stick a 43mm filter on the camera's filter ring mount... and then mount the ring directly to the filter instead.  You ought to be using a very clean UV filter to begin with and that means 96% to 99.7% light transmission.
.

77mm NiSi filter + stepping rings fitted to the 43mm Hoya filter that was on the lens.

Hi Marco,

Wow … love your photos using the EF-M 32mm.  Bought the 32mm too and this lens is awesome.

I was also thinking of getting the EF-M 11-22mm .. what do you think ?

Cheers.  EAKB

I like this lens immensely and I've reviewed this lens previously here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3869281

The 11-22mm is a VERY useful lens. Again, it's a very flexible lens in that it's both ultra wide and VERY sharp but it's also capable of decently closeup images and less distortion when extended to 22mm. This is a good lens for sweeping landscapes and architecture but it produces wonderful exaggeration up close. It has a very effective Image Stabilizer and it produces a unique wide-angle view at 11mm.

Some shots from my own EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM are below... All shot in JPEG with some tweaks in Lightroom or Photoshop.
