Adapting my Tamron 150-600 G2 to my GH4 for wildlife

Filmed today in Northern New Jersey.  I filmed at 4K 30fps and did the zooming in post.

The weakness of adapters is often rather slow AF. How do you find AF speed to be with this combination?

For this bird video I manually focused on the subject, I haven't tried the autofocus much.  This is mostly just a filming rig for me.  I lockdown the camera on a tripod and keep autofocus / IS off while filming.

I do exhibit print photographs locally and 16 megapixels falls below my standards for still images.  I may switch over to the Canon M50 in time as I see import models going for under $500.  Seems like a good value for 4K video, superior dynamic range, 24 megapixels, and native Canon autofocus.  90% of my lenses are for the EF mount.
