Looks interesting but it is too bad it doesn't have two cameras so it could take 3D images.  Seems to be aimed more at 3D games and videos.

So, use 3Dstereoid to take cha-cha's.  works just fine...

Can you put 3D files on the SD card in the King 7S 3D phone. That is 3D files created by another device/PC such as mpo or Side by side jpg and do the size of the files have to conform to a certain number of pixels. Does it play side by side movie files and show the image as 3D.

A lot of questions , but I what to know that I could use it to display my existing 3D images and clips.

Yes! I have hundreds of them loaded as side-by-side jpegs on a microSD card. I use several free apps to view them. It works best if they have a horizontal size resolution equal or greater than the horizontal pixel count of the phone (2560).

You MUST format the card in the phone first, and then transfer them from another source (a computer) via the USB or bluetooth connection.

I even use it as a phone (3G here).

It comes with several stereo vids installed as previews, so it does play stereo vids, BUT, I don't have any idea what format they are in...

Works good for me!  Buy it and try it...

It is a lenticular display, so it has a sweet spot (both in viewing distance and viewing angle). Expressing the sweet spot "dimensionally" is difficult. All lenticular displays have a narrow, if not singular, sweet spot where ghosting is at a minimum. This is sensitive to how much contrast you have in an image, and your personal tolerance.

It works like the W3 (which I have) with MUCH more resolution.

Another potential con is it uses Android 5.1. Several generations old.

I don't expect any upgrades.  I don't root the phones, so I don't know what will happen.

The apps Stereoscope and 3DSteriod work great.

I don't see pixels or jagged lines when viewing. YMMV.

I purchased the King 7S 3D phone and it took about 2 weeks to arrive from China. I live in the UK. I have been playing with it for a few days.

Using the built-in app 3D Centre I am able to view side by side ( squashed ) movie clips ( I made myself, they are 1920x1080 , 30fps, about  20Mbps,  mp4 files ) . The 3D image on the display is amazingly good. I do have to get my head in the sweet spot, but this is easy with a little practise.

OK, I have done quite a bit of testing on the King 7S. I am reworking some my old left and right movie files to produce the required 3d output - it takes quite a bit of time.

Here are some results

Using the built-in app '3D Center' and selecting its 3D player.

At no time did the playing of any of the video clip ( side by side, 1/2 size ), listed below did the action stutter - it played nice and soothly. This was for the following video specs

1920x1080 29.97fps 21Mbps h264 .mp4 file

1920x1080 59.94fps 20.5Mbps h264 .mp4 file

1920x1080 59.94fps 20Mbps h265 .mp4 file

3840x2160 29.94fps 120Mbps h264 .mp4 file

3840x2160 29.94fps 40Mbps h265 .mp4 file

I have had not much luck with installed apps from 'Google play ' such as sView media player ( version 17.10 )

On 2d clips it is not playing smoothly on 4K clips.

On 3d side by side 1/2 size clips the 3d images is not working properly - it sort of half works - there is a vertical split in the image and the 3d is different on one side of the split to the other.

The app 'Stereoscope' version 1.5.4 will convert the side by side , 1/2 size image to anaglyth but i don't know if it can make it 'glasses free' 3d.

I think the King 7S is excellent for show 3d movie clips. The quality is amazing.

I'm certain that 4k produces a significant sharper image than 1080p.

I measured using a macro lens on my camera the pitch of the vertical lines on the lenticular display as 10 lines per mm.

The display is 133mm wide , so there are in total 1330 lines - 665 for left side and 665 for right side images.

For a 1920x1080 pixel image, the squashed right and left images will both have 960 pixels. So I guess the player in the King 7S will map the 960 pixels to the 665 vertial lines of lenses in the Lenticular display.

The built- in app '3D center' played all of the 5 formats of videos ( side by side, squashed ) listed, smoothly without any problems. They all looked great.

I haven't tried 256x1440 60fps

I have a problem with Android smart phones in general. I'm ok using a PC. I put a 2d 4K 30fps clip from my PC into on of the folders in the internal memory of the Smart phone. I try to play it and get a list of apps to choose from to play it. At one point it didn't play smoothly. On the whole I found it frustrating to make an app play what I wanted. This probably a problem with me than with the Android smart phone. The built-in app '3D center' played 3d clips and allowed you to choose the clip you wanted without any problems. I put all the 3d clips into a folder called '3d' and this seemed to work.

I haven't so far been able to view a 3d still using the apps I downloaded. The app called sView didn't work properly the image was split in two and each half processed the 3d differently. May be I didn't have the right number of pixels in the image or something.

I can view a 3d still image ( side by side ,squashed ) if I make the image  into a clip and view it using the 3d player '3d center'. It looks great - but a bit of an effort - just to view a still in 3d.

The King 7S may be using 2 pixels under each line of lenicular lens, in which case the resolution may be higher than the number of lines of lenicular lenes.

The import thing is the 3d glasses free display is very good on this smartphone.
