The 60mm 2.4 for portraits (X-Pro2)
12

Did a couple of shots last week with the 60mm... light was awful, a mix of daylight and artifical, and I had just a couple of minutes for each shot. The layouter asked for some room left/right to include a quote of each.

No complaints about the 60 here! AF reasonable fast, and I really like the unagitated OOF rendering of this lens.

They look great to me. Can't wait to receive my 60mm too! It seems to be a very versatile lens that was resurrected with these new, faster AF bodies we have now.

Nice shots. The 60 2.4 is so underrated and usually assumed to be good only for close-ups while it's a really versatile lens that can also be used for portraits, landscapes and anything else that doesn't require super fast AF response.

The 60 has long been one of my fav Fuji lenses. In fact my first 2 lenses were the 60 and the 35/1.4. I have found the 60 to be more versatile and use it for my carry around with my XT10. Only switch to the 35/1.4 at night in low light, tho surprising how the 60 can hold its own wide open and hi ISO.

These are very nice portraits!  I have this lens and love it.  I think it has beautiful bokeh.  Although I have the 80macro as well, when I travel this is the lens I take.  It doubles as a portrait lens and closeup/macro lens for me when traveling.

Very nice portraits, like the subtle out of focus backgrounds, sharp subjects, natural looking light and poses.

I mainly use my 60mm as a portrait lens too, and I'm very pleased with it. Nearly always use it at f2.4.

Great shots indeed

I love this lens which is now quite fast with the XH1 (once you have prefocused the distance to avoid this macro lens going from infinity to proximity)

The bokeh is silky smooth

Re: The 60mm 2.4 for portraits (X-Pro2)

I've always loved the 60mm f2.4. It's such a comfortable focal length and is one of the very best lenses Fuji has produced. When I think my 90mm f2 may be too much to carry around with the 16-55mm f2.8 or if I want something more discrete I use the 60mm. It's bokeh is very close to that of the 90mm f2 thanks to its 9 rounded aperture blades (90mm has only 7). It is also the most useful for close focus and picking out architectural detail.

If you have the 35mm f1.4, use the same hood on the 60mm - it's perfect and compact - or buy a cheap 39mm uv filter and push out the glass to use as a spacer then a 39 - 58mm stepup ring and fit a 58mm circular screw-in hood. Throw away the huge OEM hood.

Nice portraits!

i really like the 60mm for portrait, great bokeh, and sharp. Do sometime use it for street photography and only now and then for macro.
