Olympus E-P5: Assigning Fn Button to MySet?

Page 85 of the E-P5 manual implies that the Fn button can be assigned to a MySet, or cycle through them. I've been unable to achieve this. Is this a mistake in the manual - anyone?

Hello Jim,

Fn button function can be changed via Cogs menu B, Button Function, where there is a list of available options. What you can't do is change the programmed function between Mysets - it will stay the same once set. If you save the setting to a Myset, it will be the same for all Mysets.

Applies to all button functions.

After saving to Myset(s), you can re-assign the function, effectively giving you 2 choices "on the fly" - one selected by the Myset selection, the other by pressing the Fn button manually.

This is a long standing limitation of Pen and OMD Mysets.

I've seen as you describe above, but MySets aren't on the list of functions that can be assigned.

Hello Jim,

Basic procedure for Mysets:

Make all the settings you want for a particular Myset.

Then go to Shooting Menu 1>Reset/Myset >Select Myset 1-4*>Joypad rightarrow>Press OK to save the settings.

*= Invoke any Myset later by pressing OK in the Myset select menu

Or, you can then assign your Myset(s) to a Mode dial position via Cogs B, Mode Dial Function, presumably using settings you don't use often e.g. Auto, Art, Scene or Photo-story ?

I see that the table at https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympus-pen-e-p5/6 confirms that the Fn button cannot be set to a Myset. However, the Magnify and REC buttons can.

Is that useful to you?

I can't see any reference to MySets on page 128 of my manual. The page is for 'Custom Menu', Chapter 11.

How did you set your E-P5 Fn button to a MySet, then Paul?
