Move from GX7 to GX9,..

when will the price of the GX9 drop? Wondering if Christmas this year (in Canada) would be a good time to snap one up and upgrade my GX7.

thanks

Mike F

I might add that it’s a little frustrating here in Canada (and it may be the same for the U.S) that we cannot get the GX9 as a body only option,.. I have every lens I could want

I love my GX7 but just moved up to a GX8. Great camera - should have done it sooner.

I was in the same situation as you, I had two GX7's and wanted to upgraded to a GX9, (I live in Pickering Ontario) so decided to pick one up from eBay, that way I did not have to pay extra for a lens I did not want.

Yes i considered that as well,. And admittedly am still loving my GX7,. I guess I’m thinking about 6 months ahead about this upgrade.

The GX8 seemed very attractive but maybe a little too big compared the the GX7/GX9 form factor.

I would love that EVF from the GX8 though,..

and weather sealing (even just a little bit of it)

It would be a great upgrade for the extra resolution, and other features like 4K and smaller compact light weight size.  And the kit lens can be sold off if you don't like it.

If you're OK with a heavier larger camera the G9 would be a great upgrade.  Check out the reviews and ability online and YT.  Some call it the best MFT camera on the market.  And this holiday the sale price will be close to the GX9.

While the GX8 is a bit bigger than the GX7, it feels really good in the hand. After 1-2 hours using the GX8, you won't remember the GX7. BTW the EVF is simply outstanding.

+1.  This forum was fixated on the "large" size of the GX8 but once in hand it really isn't that large, no larger than most of the DSLR-style m43 cameras, and it handles very well.

It is a misjustice not to handle a GX8 for oneself before dismissing it from consideration.
