Nice results, are there any particular lenses that led you to switch mounts?

Canon EF is near the end too, but I like that you did it. I think it's a great idea, and I'm surprised you can get auto-focus. The 50mm f1.2 L on that camera would be cool, as would the TS 17mm f4 L and many other Canon lenses.

Re: Sigma SDQH is changed to canon EF and can auto focus

Very cool. Have you tried many Canon lenses yet? What lenses? How was the auto-focus? Did it work like a Sigma SA mount lens or more slowly? How is auto-focus accuracy?

That is awesome. The SA mount was basically Pentax mechanical mount with Canon EF flange distance and electrical protocol but maybe on a different pin out.

Do you have any Canon lenses with OIS? Does that work too?

The speed of AF is almost as of SDQH SA mount

Image stabilization is work

modification about 170 USD, it takes about 2 weeks for modification.

There is green cast problem for some lens.

I tested several lenses

-canon 16-35 f2.8II

-canon 135 f2 L

-canon 50 f1.8 stm

-canon 24 f1.4LII

-tamron 24-70 G2

Have green cast problem:

-canon 85 f1.2L II

-tamron 17-35mm F/2.8-4 Di OSD (Model A037)

-canon 50 f1.2L

-tamron 45 f1.8 VC

I love the look of the background in the images from that 35/2 IS lens. I bet you have been using that lens a lot, huh? I can imagine getting the mount changed, just to use that lens. Sigma doesn't offer any normal focal length prime lenses with IS, and 35mm on the H is just about perfect, if you ask me.

I'm not a fan of that 11-16, but I like how it covers the sensor. That's really interesting. I don't think Sigma makes a lens that wide which covers the whole sensor. Still, the 8-16 offers a wider view in crop mode.

Yes, I like canon 35/2 IS, it sharp, have IS and lightweight.

I dont't like sigma which not produce lightweight prime lens(f1.8 or f2 are ok for me) with IS.

As sigma user which usually use ISO100, IS is very important.

Tokina 11-16 is sharp lens but AF is very slow and sometimes can't AF (not sure, my lens have some quality issue?)

The 10-20 f3.5 covers the whole sensor by 11mm. The earlier 10-20 does not.

Are you sure IS is working?
1

I have both an SD1 and SDQ modified by Wei Duan and it was my understanding that is does not work on either sigma mount canon lenses or on canon lenses.  I'm pretty sure I read this in the xitec fora on users using his conversions in China.

I've never tried it though, partially because of this understanding/belief.  Maybe it is a new feature though as far as I knew Wei Duan's conversions do not involve chip mods which I believe are necessary to accomplish IS functionality.

If you really are seeing IS support I may have to get an IS lens to try it out?

Thanks for the info Shawn. I think I'll stick with the 8-16 though.

Would you have access to Zeiss lens that has great micro-contrast? It would be interesting  to be able to compare that with a Sigma lens of the same focal length.

Thanks for reporting,

1. Is there any EXIF info transfered to the X3F file?

2. Did you consider to edit the lens entry in the custom EXIF file to trigger the color cast correction in SPP for pictures taken with lens where you oberserve the cast?

3, Do have a comparison of resolution of the Tokina 2.8/11-16 in H-mode to the Sigma 4.5-5.6/8-16mm in APS-C mode or crop mode?
