Re: Test Images With Vignetting

Have you tried clicking on the firmware links for both A200 and A2? Mine still says "Site Cannot Be Reached". Also cannot get the owners manuals either.

The website's still there and you can click on the links , but you cannot download anything any more , so drives , firmware updates and even instruction manuals are no longer available .

.

For firmware updates you need to get them here ; https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=12&v_code=430

If your likely to ever buy any more Minolta digital cameras , you'ld best download all the F/W updates while there still available .

For a user manual you need to go to one of the following ;

https://photo-manuals.com/manual/konica-minolta

http://www.manualsdir.com/brands/konica-minolta/13.html ( a lot on here )

https://www.manualslib.com/brand/konica-minolta/digital-camera.html

For film cameras , see here ;

https://www.butkus.org/chinon/minolta.htm

Even if you've a really old camera like the Minolta RD-175 , you can get the driver for it , as long as you've got an old P.C to run it on , Windows XP or earlier ( hey it's a 1995 DSLR !) from here ;

http://www.helpdrivers.com/cameras/Minolta/RD-175/

Don't forget , these are drivers so you can connect the camera to your P.C to transfer images if you don't have a card reader , but there here all the same ;

http://www.helpdrivers.com/cameras/Minolta/

Another very good website was Vikenk , who is no longer there , so best thing to do if your interested in this gear is to download everything and back it up on a spare disc/DVD , as who knows how long these resources will still be available ?

Re: Test Images With Vignetting

That's a great idea, Neil, and big thanks for resourcing those links for us!

I still want to get a G600 and S414 as well as a 7i and/or 7hi. I'm still waiting (seems like forever) for my A2 to get here! Those digital Maxxums are still sort of pricey for me right now.

Re: Test Images With Vignetting

I see what you guys mean.

I didn't click on anything the other day because i already have it all downloaded.

On another note, i have 4 of the S404's and 4 S414's. 2 of each are brand new.

I have 3 of the D7i's of which 2 are new as well. All these models were my favorites until i bought a Canon D60 back when it came out. After letting them go i always felt i needed them again.

The A200 i have works perfect, but will only work with Sandisk Ultra II cards.

The A2's were ahead of their time.

Thanks to Neil i have all the other Minolta software too:-)

Re: Test Images With Vignetting

Just wondering your thoughts on the S414. I thought it would be nice to have a KM compact and the S414 and G600 seem like good models.

I really thought my A2 would be here by now. The seller took over 2 weeks to ship it out. Earlier today the tracking info said it would be here today. Now it just says pending.

Personally i like the S404 more, but both are great performing cameras for their time.

Heck they were only $500.00 back then  and CF Cards were cheap....$150.00 for a 256MB card.

FINALLY !!

I got it about an hour ago. It was left at the wrong house! I was told by FedEx to leave exact directions with the shipper to give to the driver from now on.

I will get the camera out this weekend and post a new thread. The auction listing said there was no battery or card but it arrived with both. It also came with an OEM strap and cap and a Tiffen UV filter!

Re: FINALLY !!

Glad it arrived in the end .

An address not good enough for them to deliver too ?

By "exact directions" , do they mean you need to get your crayons out and draw them a picture of your house ????

.

In some respects I prefer the A2 with it's better ergonomics and better Tilt up , higher resolution EVF than the A200 .

Batteries are also compatible with my Dynax 7d .

The main reason I use the A200 is I find the rear swivel screen LCD more versatile .

Enjoy the camera and let us know how you get on (  with picture's ) .

Charger On Order

The camera came with battery but no charger. I tried my "universal charger" but it couldn't start the charge. So, I have ordered a Kastar charger for $6. It should be here next week, and the good ol' US Postal Service will deliver it perfectly! Until then I will clean it up real good and read the manual.

I had a bid on an auction for a 7i, however the auction ended while I was at work and I got outbid by $1.
