Good idea for a poll. To my memory the first there's been in this forum.

Well, it does tell us that no one threw up. Or rather that no one admitted to it.

I’m in two minds over the loss of the +/- control :

It is the one I use most often for exposure compensation, but it’s also the control that most often accidentally gets nudged.

In the months before the GR-III ships, I’m going to compare the GR-I with a Leica TL 18mm before deciding if the GR-III makes sense any more.

I’m frequently amazed by just how good even the jpegs from the GR-I are ; not sure the Leica  with 18mm is going to reach the same level, but it does win when looking for a 28mm(40) view.

The tipping point with the GR-III might be the VR.

Or maybe , it is because that fifth option is a silly one which does not show the difference with the fourth one.

Throwing up in your mouth is not silly. It's pretty unpleasant. Especially for your dentist or significant other.

Is it possible that you are taking things a mite seriously these days, Harold?

Agreed. I usually don't care much about price, but Ricoh is on drugs if they think they can a lot of these with a high cost.

The sensor better be great and the lens better be sharp or it'll die fast.

Although I recently saw a mod comment that it is routine for people to run multiple accounts here so they can influence polls. Also that some of them open polls for same reason.

So, bearing that in mind, ..... it is interesting that with 54 votes counted, only 8 fell clearly on the No side. Come on No voters, put those multiple accounts to work!

I doubt this is happening.

But 25% on the fence or not buying does not bode well for a camera that had universal acclaim via the GRII.

Final judgement has to be reserved until we see real tests and reviews.

I reckon it's unbelievably good. Remember how many GR and GR II users are happy with the camera they have. Not everyone is GAS-aholic.

I never use the flash, so I don't care about its disappearance.

Wish they had put a 35mm lens though.

I liked it, but wondered why, when pressing the shutter button, it doesn't go away.

I'm forced always to press a button telling the GR ' I'm done adjusting the exposure compensation, where other cameras will revert back to shooting mode, once the shutter is half pressed. GXR also has this ' issue'

My thoughts when this happens:

I made my adjustment..pressed the shutter, now get off the screen!

I’m frequently amazed by just how good even the jpegs from the GR-I are ;

They are. Removing the Anti Aliasing filter renders images sharp..and that sharp lens!

This was the first camera ever, for me, that I didn't have to add sharpening in post.

Afraid I would cut myself, the detail from this little gem. I miss it at times.

For now, enjoying going back in time...and like the output of my VR  enabled GX100.

Not the same I.Q.....but 24mm I like better than 28mm.

BTW, I'm not a street shooter..so I'm a rarity here, using these camera's for landscape and scenic photography.

Love the controls, layout and design of Ricoh camera's. Keeping my GXR , for sure.

I reserve the final judgement for until after I see the camera and have it in my hands, but I'm quite tempted - so it's one of the first two answers for me

I'm a Pentaxian, and such a little gem would complement my DSLR kit nicely.

There is an update that fixes that.

Hate to be the one to tell you but that was fixed using shutter button confirmation  in firmware update  v2.03. Over 5 years ago !!!
