Great case for sure
1

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now. At that price how can you go wrong?

With careful arrangement I can all this in the case: camera, 4 extra batteries, battery charger, my camera strap (which is fairly robust),, and the Nikon P1000 camera strap that I take along just in case I need to carry the  full case. I don't care for the strap that comes with the case, so that stays at home.

I still have the Nikon P1000 holster case on back-order with B&H since last month so it should have a better strap.

Re: Great case for sure

silly question: can you adjust the strap so its more like a belt or fanny type pack so when i run thru the airport with a backpack on the holster is not flopping all over the place??

Re: AmazonBasics Holster Camera Case for DSLR Cameras with my P1000

My Lowepro Nova 140 AW is almost the same, but I'm reluctant to use it for two reasons:

1. I'm not convince it's good for such a heavy camera to keep it on the lens, especially for a long time and with a lot of movement, as when hiking for hours.

2. If I'd like to use its hood, I have to take off the cap, take off the hood, reverse it and mount it, then put the cap again. When I'll put the camera back in the holster, all  those operations should be done in the reverse order. Repeat them many times is a awkward and accident-prone.

Happy shooting,

Augustin

P.S. I'd like a holster to keep it horizontally and with the hood on, that's like (in mm) 240X150X120 (LxWxH), but I didn't find any.

In mine, yes! Even WITH the hood could be forced in it, but of course that's not advisable

All the best,

Augustin

For the reasons you have mentioned here, I carry my P1000 horizontally and it's very easy to grab and pull the camera out. I have the hood on all the time.

Re: AmazonBasics Holster Camera Case for DSLR Cameras with my P1000

I got this for the P900 more as a need than anything else, and liked is so much that got one for the P1000.

It eliminates the need to remove the Nikon standard lens hood as it collapses easily, it does a little bit of vignetting when fully extended but the odd time I shoot at a wide FL it is very easy to collapse and you can fit the lens cap, filters (i.e. close up), etc directly on the hood.

Highliy recommended!
