Panasonic G7 and Mecablitz 30BTC4 (150Volts :O)

Hello folks,
I got the old flash. Mecablitz 30 BCT 4. I tried it on the Panasonic G7 but I did not know there was any safe electrical voltage. On the Internet, I read that the trigger voltage of this flash is more than 150V Damn it!

Did I damage my camera?

Thank you!

Ales

Very likely - what are you noticing?

There are safe ways to use old flashes with modern cameras, and slave adapters are only a couple of dollars. That allows you to use old flashes off camera.

When you think about it, it was crazy to keep the same connector when the voltage spec changed so much. Imagine of USB worked at 5v and 150v.

fyi: Trigger Voltages of Old Flash Units

Reinhard Wagner has published a long list of trigger voltages used by older flashes. It's in issue 2/2018 of his (German) Oly e-Paper which can be downloaded here. Some background, again in German, was published here.

Thanks. I think the camera is all right. I was thinking about it. There is no 150 volts, like 150 volts. This has very little ampere(i thing). I think it would not have to damage the camera.

It's just my theory.
