Re: I don't know which camera to buy

Get the best one you can afford.  Really, right now with all or most of the 18mp and 24mp Canon DSLR cameras, they all can take excellent pictures.  So, I wouldn't ponder too much over the choices.  If you can swing the costs for the Canon T7i (800D) camera and the lenses you want, go for it.

I'm using the Canon T2i (550D), T3i (600D) and T7i (800D) cameras presently.  What I especially like about the Canon T7i (800D) is the 24mp and the ability to reduce or increase the exposure compensation while using auto ISO in manual mode.  Read the reviews, to see the reasons that you would want one camera over another.  A lot of people like the Canon SL2 (200D) camera too.

Re: I don't know which camera to buy

If you can afford the higher price, buy the Canon 800D. If you want to save money, the Canon 18-55mm STM kit lens, would be good lens to use. I'm still using my kit lenses. In my opinion, since you are a beginner learn how to use the camera first with the kit lens before spending extra money on more expensive lenses.

Here are some recent sample photos I took with my older Canon T2i (550D) camera and Canon 18-55mm kit lens.

+1 Agree with Digi'.

The Dual Pixel Autofocus is IMHO absolutely worth it.  For Live View and Video, the DPAF combined with the touchscreen is sheer magic.

I too would get one of the STM kit lenses.  The autofocus is very well behaved, and completely silent.  A must for video.

Happy shopping!

It probably doesn't matter in the slightest which one you buy to learn on.  Obviously the 800D is newer and has some improved features, but a beginner probably won't need those.

Re: I don't know which camera to buy

Between the 750D and 800D the 800D is a better camera for many reasons.  If you can afford it then buy it.  Also, the EF-S 18-55mm STM kit lens is very good and a great lens to start with.

Either will be fine and likely more than you'll need feature wise.

I highly recommend the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM.

Very fast AF, great sharpness, contrast and colour and low distortion from the mid to end range...  Bag of primes sort of territory in one lens, amazing price too.  Noticeably better than any kit lens.

Because the EOS M system is a "dead man walking" after the release of the RF mount.

There's a Doomsayer in every crowd!

I'm of the opposite opinion to yours actually (gotta agree with RedFox88 here).

Here's why.

Cheers!

In a few years there will be a lot of crowing from one side or the other on this topic.
