Bumble bee answers call of Nature! 6KBurst mode on Lumix G9
8

Funny thing happened today. I wanted to learn how to use the 6K Burst mode. So I tried on some bees. The results are not great (not the camera's fault). I think it is because I was doing macro work and it is hard to follow a bee flying and keep focus.

Anyhow, that is not the point.

While reviewing my pics, I realized that I had caught a bumble bee peeing!!! And that alone made my day. Not that I am into that kind of thing [edit], but I still thought it was cool! I would have never gotten that without the 6K Burst I think.

Take a peek if you want!!! (pics are before, during and after)

Please no comment on the quality, because I know they are not in focus. But I thought it was worth a post anyway.

Thanks for the +1 ... as for the watermark, they are there to protect my pics. The pictures were just there to share the oddity and surprised pic, not to win a photo contest.

I hate to rain on your parade but some internet searching showed it's not unusual and there are a few pics.

But I'm still impressed.

It was for me... i.e. I had never seen it with my eyes and was only able to witness it through the lens (after the fact). And I never claimed I was the first to witness this. That’s all.

But I'm still impressed.

Thank you. I appreciate that.

Using that logic, since there are photos of pretty much everything on The Internets, we shouldn't be proud of our own images, we may as well put our cameras away and just hang around talking about equivalence.

But I'm still impressed.

Full credit to the OP, I'm impressed. The OP seems to have doubled the number of online images of bees peeing. What have you done today?

You are too kind. I would give -10 for the watermark. In fact I am surprised I bothered looking as, for me, they are an immediate turn-off.

nice catch

searching with google I found only one other similar picture

Just curious, why the huge watermark?

I had a look at your galleries, nice job!  You have a lot of nice pictures on the internet without  watermarks, why than to protect this one? does have some special value for you?

Why are you upset about context to a natural occurence?

The OP photo inspired me to do some research. I think education is good.

Yea, artistically and technically the photo is flawed but it's still an interesting capture and the OP should be commended for the results.
