Don't know what to think about my S100

I put up some jpegs-from-raw (tweaked in LR6) awhile back which I thought showed what a fine little camera it is

I also have a 330 HS (actually two of them, you know that is) which I'm thoroughly pleased with.  So I took a high altitude hike earlier this summer and just took the S100 thinking it would deliver stellar IQ.  Well...

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a camera.  Bringing jpegs up from raw just delivered boring, colorless, unsharp stuff and I know my way around Lightroom.  The downtown shots I linked you to above were all shot as wide as possible and that seems to be where the lens is the sharpest.

Zoom in any, all the way to 5x and the sharpness degrades to almost laughable.  If I showed you a 5x shot, well, you'd see an image that is just unfocused basically (I won't bore you with a pic of that, take my word for it).

I couldn't get the colors to look natural like they did in the downtown shots.  Really, nothing worked.  I should have taken my 330.

I bought the S100 just to see, as it was the camera I wanted back in the day.  But having all its controls doesn't really add up to any improvement.  I can't believe I'm saying this but all I want to do is sell it.  Of course, they don't go for much on Fleabay so I'll probably just keep it and have no idea when I'd want to shoot with it.

As an aside, I was up at altitude a week ago and just for fun I took side x side shots with my 330 and my D600 and it was eye-opening how close the shots were:  color/sharpness/everything.  But that's another thread.
