External Yongnuo flash on M5 not working

Hi,

I have a problem getting my Yongnuo flash system up and running on my M5. Maybe someone can help me?

I have the following:

  • 2 Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II (flash)
  • 1 YN-E3-RT (transmitter)

Both models are more-or-less Canon rip-offs.

When I use the flash on the hotshoe on my M5 or on my 80D it works flawlessly. When I have the transmitter on the hotshoe it works only on the 80D. Mounted on the M5 the external flash does not fire.

I am pretty sure that the M5 can talk to the flash transmitter. And the transmitter talks to the external flash. I can dial any settings on either the camera or the transmitter and the settings are reflected vice-versa. It just does not fire off!

Any idea why? Is there any special setting needed on the M5 to make it work?

Thanks

Oh, guys. Just after writing this I reminded myself that the Yongnuo supports firmware updates. I updated my flashes (not the transmitter) with the latest firmware (in my case 1.32) and now it works perfectly.

Sometime it helps me to describe a problem to find the solution on my own! Thanks!
