Hello,
I've got around 900$ to spend (now and not later) for my photography, so i'd like a bit of help.
I have a refurbished Pana GX7 for 2 years now and i almost love it
My lenses are :
- 7 artisans 7.5mm / f2.8
- Pana 24mm / f1.7
- Pana 45-200mm /f4-5.6
I'm an amateur and not really specialized in anything, i used to do dance photography so i had specific requirements but i do less of those and experiment a bit.
I admit i don't have any particular interest in landscapes or macros at the moment.
I took my 3 lenses in Peru and that was awesome even though a bit challenging since i miss the 25-45mm focal, I broke my kit 14-42mm I.
I just bought some cheap studio gear and i'd like to experiment a little bit with that.
I like portraits but not specifically hyper close-up one, i even tend to love them in wider focals.
Recently, i also dabbed into videos and i admit i missed IBIS&OIS a lot while recording, had to do quite a lot of warp stabilization which doesn't make my cpu and my time happy.
So,
I thought about the idea of going full frame for no particular reason (i'm happy with mft) but at that price, refurbished, i'm not even sure if that would worth it.
Upgrading my body, but to which one ? GX8 is appealing for its 20mp sensor and maybe some refreshed stabilization but still no IBIS for video, not convinced it's worth it.
GX9 is probably a better upgrade.
Now as you may have seen i don't have a kit lens anymore and need something to replace it.
I thought about the :
- Panasonic Lumix G 12-35mm f/2.8
- Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro
- Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8
I feel like i kinda answered my own question but i'd like to have your take on it. The only real drawback of not upgrading my body is that it's annoying for video and IQ is lower but i can also buy a cheap "kit lens" with it OR i just upgrade sharpness & co with a pro-ey lens.
Thank you.
