I may do the same. The 35mm is the least appealing for me and chances are if the 23mm is too wide, I’ll be wanting something telephoto like to 50mm anyway.

These light primes are the reason I left Canon for Fuji. I cut the weight and bulk in half.

Ive kept my Canon 6D and my Canon 16-35mm F4 L IS USM for landscape work but there’s no way I’d buy another Canon if their attitude doesn’t change. My main goal with the Fuji is to have a lightweight system for when I don’t want to carry the full frame setup.

I had a 6D too and a bunch of lens including the 16-35

In reality once I got the XH1 with the 14 2.8, I never touched the the 6D 16/35 combo  again... I am not doing much landscape, just documentary/street/travel stuff

Hi all,

Does anyone here own all three of the F2 R WR lenses? I now own the 23mm and am thinking of picking the other two up so I have a complete lightweight walk around setup.

Do you use all three or have you found better alternatives for some? I'm very tempted by lenses like the 56mm 1.2 but ultimately I am keeping my FF gear for shallow DOF. I am more hoping for some excellent quality/sharp lightweight lenses.

According to many here and the lens testing sites, the 23 f2 is a much better lens than the 35 f2.  I don't have either preferring the f1.4 versions of each.  The 50 f2 I bought as a light weight version of the 56 f1.2.  I tried the 50 and it has sit on my closet shelf since.  It can not hold a candle to the 56 as far as speed nor rendering.  Sure it is lighter but I will carry the extra weight thank you.

The f2 primes were a Fuji plow to generate small primes to chum a market.  They even coined the term Fujicron to imply Leica. What a hoot.   If you don't care about an extra stop  of speed and your worry about an oz or two then they may be for you.  But I don't see any of the Fujicrones being worth having since I have the focal lengths covered with better rendering lenses.

Re: Anyone have all three? 23mm, 35mm & 50mm F2

Personally I got my X-E3 with the XF 18-55 zoom for travel. I've since bought the 50mm F2 and the 14mm F2.8. I find the 50mm F2 to be a great "walkabout" portrait lens for shooting in the city at cool spots or taking portraits on hikes. I find it to be an excellent little lens. I prefer landscapes and I don't make any money from portraits, so the 56mm 1.2 was overkill for my needs, but the F4 at the long end of the zoom lens was somewhat limiting. I'm actually seriously thinking about getting the 23mm F2, but I'm waiting to see if they include it as a kit option with the X-T3 as I may pick one of those up when it launches.

What is the source for the claim that Fuji were the ones to call the f2 primes Fujicrons?

I suspect it was a third party that first called them that.

Re: Anyone have all three? 23mm, 35mm & 50mm F2

I've had all three. If I had to pick one the 35 would win because it's really a great middle ground. Infact it was the first f2 I had but dealt it away in favor of the 23 and 50. Once I had the 23 and 50 the 35 became a casualty of the focal spread. The 50 f2 is actually my most used lens in my Fuji kit right now. There's too many great things about it to not have it nearly constantly attached to my XH1 but it's really nice having the 23 when I run out of steps back I can take indoors and need the wider aspect. Although the 18-55 is a video beast when I'm packing light and wanting one lens, the 23 makes for a great video option with the 4k crop.

Re: Anyone have all three? 23mm, 35mm & 50mm F2

I have all three including the 90mm f2. Having used them for more than a year, I realised that the ones I reach for mostly are the 35mm and 90mm. I rarely go for the 23 and 50.

I predominantly used the 23 for street but later found that I have more keepers shot on the 35. The 50 feels too close to the 35 and if I have to tighten up the shot, the 90 does a better job.

So these days - 35mm for street and general use, 90mm for portraits and if I need some reach.

I have all three first getting the 23mm which came with my X-E3. I soon added afterwards once finding it used for a good price, the 35mm. Now as for use I tend to use the 23mm more so for street, some environmental portraits and street scenes. I eventually added the 50mm but i really don't use it that much, its's mainly used for portraits for which I find it to be really great and responsive. I don't care for the manual focusing on any of them, but i think thats more due to the focus by wire and how easily the scale jumps to one end sometimes. Recently I added the 18mm f2 and thats been glued to my X-E3. I truly love this lens and because it my 23mm now see little less action, again this is more due to my preference for wider views especially when it comes to street for i like to get close when shooting, then take a few citycapes etc afterwards.  I've been trying out the X-Pro 2 mostly for its weather sealing because i'm that guy who'll shoot under any condition, and I find using all three, well 4 on it just feels right at home. Only problems so far is with the X-E3 being newer, it just feels more responsive than the X-Pro 2. I love the OVF  but the overall responsiveness just seems a bit behind even with high performance on. I also miss having the option of Bluetooth geo tagging for i tend to walk various areas and neighborhoods and its very helpful to keep track where my shots have been taken. I would say all three are very great and portable, if my my Nikon equivalents were as compact and not as heavy as they are, i probably would have never tried Fuji
