Sigma DP1s - soldiering on
7

I was unable to part company with my 2009 DP1s following an upgrade to the DP1m.  I guess I'm nostalgic and it was nostalgia that encouraged me to charge it up and take it for a hike on the Whitby Moors. I took a couple of shots but thought the attached shot of Scugdale came out nice.

Its interesting to note that PhotoPro6 processes the DP1s files very quickly which is nice, and there old quirks about colour balance remain. I used to always set the white balance manually , but on this occasion I trusted the auto.

Regards

Scugdale, North Yorkshire , England

I don't have a Merril, but I do have the dp1s. Yeah, it is old and slow. But a lovely camera to use.

I find it refreshing to use the dp1s because of its lack of resolution. It is easy to get caught up in resolution and pixel peeping. The dp1s usually yields great images, and frees you from the peeping...

Nice capture, BTW. I haven't spent any time there, but it does remind me of my time spent wandering around the beautiful lonely roads of Fife, Scotland, on my bike.

The colours look good to me. Nice to see the heather.

Thank you for posting this. It makes me want to come visit the U.K. and drive around, all over the place, for a few days, looking for scenes like this (and old castles, stone walls and bridges, etc.).
