Decent - but not for indoor shooting

This was my first zoom lens, and it is decent, providing good sharpness and contrast, provided there is good lighting.  Forget about using this for photographing high school/college graduations that are held indoors.  The lens is very soft wide open at 300mm, so you will have to stop down to at least f8 to get even satisfactory sharpness.  You get what you pay for, so this is a good lens for the price.  But if you want more, then you're going to have to pay thousands of dollars more for a fast zoom lens.
