Canon refurb curiosity

So on their site they have the G9X Mk II for $380. They have the ELPH 180 for $80. So that's $460 total. Then they have the "Bundle" of a G9x Mk II and ELPH 180 and a 30MB/s 16GB Sandisk Ultra and a 40MB/s 8GB Sandisk Ultra memory card for "only" $644.96. So that's "only" $184.98 for the two memory cards. So what am I missing to make this bundle so expensive?

There are all kinds of crazy combos on Canon’s site and there is no logic to it really.  Just keep an eye out for deals on what u are looking for.  Last year they had buy one get 9 free sales on photo paper almost every month. This year it seems like zero of those deals.

If memory serves, with one particular model, the new camera was once on sale, and at the same time, the refurbished camera was at its regular price. The end result was that the refurbished camera temporarily cost more than new.

Too funny. I think Canon must have a “random sale generator” that comes up with these ha ha.

Re op’s combo, I remember about 3-5 months ago? they had the refurb G9xii with a free Elph 180 for $380. So the sales are a big benefit to us consumers but one has to watch their sale page like a hawk. Last year I got like 8000 pages of photo paper of various sizes and types for next to nothing.

Also to the op, FYI I see the G9xii refurb as a stand alone for $329 occasionally which is a heck of a buy imo. G5x and g7xii refurbs get to about $430-$450 at their lowest from what I have seen. The refurbs at these prices are excellent buys imo.

Some of their goofball pricing on there makes no sense whatsoever. Matter of fact, on more than one occasion, I've seen the refurbs cost more than the new. How does that makes sense? You just have to be careful to cross-check (like you did) and make sure what you're getting is actually a bargain.
