Dynax 7D

One of my 2 Dynax 7's is faulty. I can't find a repairer at reasonable price.

1. Any suggestions?

2. Any one got a body or complete working one for sale?

I can't help, but someone may be able to if you let us know what country you're in.

Welcome to the forum .

As already noted if you want to know where to send a camera for repair , it would be helpful to know at least what country you live in .

This is an international forum after all !

.

You title say's Dynax 7d ( a digital camera ) and your question says Dynax 7 ( a film camera ) , which is it ?

.

As your asking about a "Dynax " I would guess your European ?

Maxxum being USA , and Alpha being Asian markets .

.

Likewise , without saying what the problem is , it's hard to help .

If it's a Dynax 7d and it has FFB , no replacement sensors or shutters are available .

Sony pulled the plug on free repairs for that issue a few years back .

Some jobs can still be done , at some places , but as Minolta sold the imaging side of the business to Sony in 2006 , new spares are hard to come by .

Not a case of reasonable prices for the work , it's if it can be done at all .

.

For more help , say where you are , and what the problem is .

.

And no , you can't have either of my Dynax 7's or my Dynax 7d !

Regards , Neil .

I'm guessing you either got it sorted or gave up as you didn't bother replying to your own thread ?

Re: Dynax 7D

Hi,

If your Dynax7 has FFB problem, and, if it is not too late, I may help you...

I also have a D7 with FFB problem. I use it regularly although can't solve this problem permanently.

1. Turn on the camera

2. Take the shutter to Bulb mode

3. Release shutter and take your finger off

4. Shutter will stay open as expected

5. Hold the camera grip firmly, and gently hit the bottom of the camera to somewhere like armlet of a bergere untill the shutter close down

May be crazy but, it really works if the camera has not been died totally. I hope my English is clear enough to explain what I mean.

Best regards...

Re: Dynax 7D

Hi, first time I see this solution for a FFB on the 7D.

I have one of my 7D working completely, even processing the image and writing it to the card. But the image is fully black.

So it maybe is a good help for a FFB but not for for this TFB totally full black.

Anyway it could have been helpfull. Thank you for sharing.

I just have closed a deal on a D7 in almost perfect condition. For 90 EUROS I could not resist . Will receive it by the end of the week.  I will post some pitures later.

Hopefully it's in full working order with signs of A/S failure or dodgy Sony Sensor issues !

I still enjoy using mine on occasions .

Check it's running on the latest firmware ( 1.10E ) , if not , download it here ; https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=23&v_code=17571

It will open another window with a few sources of servers where it's stored , ignore the link to Konica Minolta sites as they have scrubbed it off .

The other servers are fine .

Good luck and have fun .

Thank you for the information. I allready do have 2 7D’s, one was used by my brother and got faulty several months ago. I saw this secondhand camera and the price was great. So I grabbed this opportunity.

Re: Dynax 7D

Hi,

Resurrecting this thread a little bit.

Recently bought a 7D on Ebay just to get the lens with it - it was sold as having the FFB issue (and the pictures still on the CF card verified this)

That said I've tried the camera and haven't come across the FFB issue more than once or twice - and I really like the camera, the interface, the build quality and the pictures it takes!

The only issue I've had up to now was that the lens release mechanism was intermittent and requires multiple presses and a bit of lens jiggling to release the lens.

Sadly as of two days ago the camera first started taking massively overexposed pictures (for about 10 pictures) - and then stopped recognising any lenses attached to it. I've tried cleaning the contacts (they look perfect) but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas - I would love to get the camera working fully again - or should I just give up and use the camera solely with manual lenses and adapters.

Any help appreciated - thanks.

Re: Dynax 7D

FFB is a difficult behavior of the camera. Some have had the camera working for years with only now and then a black frame. One of mine had the problem that is was directly total black. I had is repaired a few years ago, but my nephew, who had the body in use got the problem back a while ago. So I just leave it now as it is.

Now your 7D, does is only have the problem wiht AF lenses and not with the manual ones?

This can sometimes be caused by a fatigued spring in the upper part of the lens mount, leading to poor electrical contact. Just inside the mount you should see some small metal tabs (the springs) that apply pressure holding the lens against the mount. It might be possible to tweak that top one so that it applies more pressure on the lens.

Re: Dynax 7D

Thanks - tried that but no difference. I'm coming to the conclusion that it may be the motherboard or a connection to it that's causing the issue as all the connection elements look perfect. As I got the camera as basically a freebie I might just accept it as the sort of thing that happens to old electronics and move on - but it's a pity...
