Exchanging my 50mm f/1.4 for 50mm f/2.5 Macro opinion.

I have bought Fuji X-T20 and 56mm f/1.2, so I no longer need my 50mm f/1.4.

While I was trying to sell it I got an exchange offer for EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro.

Most Fuji lenses won't focus close. So i think this exchange may be good to get some close up shots with my T2i (which i planned to keep). I already have EF-S 24mm STM. Which I keep for close up (But this lens is not even 1:2). If this deal happened I will sell that too because I have Fuji 23mm f/1.4 (have a look at my gear list)

What is your take on this exchange?
I hope price wise they are similar?

Here used lenses have very less value to sell.  I can only sell my 50 f/1.4 around 220USD. New 60mm f/2.8 is more money to buy.  I'm trying to buy to utilize my T2i because 50 f/1.4 has no use for me.
If this lens isn't good i will just sell this and wait for good 60mm f/2.8 used one to appear in local sites.

Not sure what part of the world you're in but here in Oz I recently picked up the 50/2.5 cheaper than what I sold my 50/1.4 for a few months earlier - by approx $75AU.

I like the 50/2.5 but like others have said, it's an old design, AF is old school noisy and slow, but I got it for a specific purpose - product close ups (which aren't moving) where I wanted more of a wider FOV (for which my only other option was the 100/2.8 macro).

Funnily enough, I then grabbed the Tamron 45/1.8 as it has quite a close MFD and I now prefer that to the 50/2.5 (more modern design, quicker AF)...

It's been a while, but I also remember seeing the 50mm macros going for cheap.

I think it's worth spending a little more and going the 35mm STM. It's easy to handle due to it being relatively wide, good IS, and built-in lights.
