M3 WiFi Connect not working

I have a Canon M3 and am trying to use WiFi connect to transfer photos to my phone, but every time I try try to connect I get the error:

  • "A camera error was detected.
  • Will shut down automatically.
  • Restart Camera.
  • E60"

I have used this in the past and my previous configuration wouldn't work so I deleted it and tried adding a new device. The same error comes up when I try to add a device. I updated my firmware in the M3 to ver. 1.2.0 and nothing changed.

Anybody experienced this. How do I solve it?

Re: M3 WiFi Connect not working

I haven't had this issue before, but I would suggest making sure that the canon connect app has the latest update just to eliminate that software from the issue. Maybe uninstall/reinstall too. You could also try factory resetting the camera and see if that resolves the issue. You said that you already updated the firmware, so resetting shouldn't change anything, but it can't hurt to try. Are you using bluetooth or nfc to connect? Have you tried pairing to another device just to make sure it's not an issue with your phone? If these don't work, I would try contacting Canon directly and see what they say. Sorry about your issue, hope it gets resolved!

I'm experiencing the same error on an EOS M6, has anyone solved it yet?

Are you trying direct connect or going through access point.

If you are trying direct connect you have to connect your device to the wifi of the camera, that is at least how it works on iOS.
