3D Stereoscopic Photography & Parallax 2.5D

Has anyone ever tried a hand at combining the 2 methodologies of 3D stereoscopic photography and 2.5D Parallax animation? Would love to know how it turned out for you.

Much appreciated.

I "think" one of the closest things that stereophotography can "duplicate" to 2.5D is a "wiggle" view. or "wigglegram". Typically these are gifs that contain just two views of the stereo pair, alternating back and forth (left-right-left-right and nauseum). There is software that can generate a multitude intermediate frames for a smoother view.

Thank you for the feedback Turbguy1. However, my issue is how to integrate a 3D still image and animate it in 2.5D Parallax form. I have checked all over the web for this combined effect, but in vain. It is a bit of a challenge though and I want to give it a shot.

Re: 3D Stereoscopic Photography & Parallax 2.5D

You are welcome (I think)...

After examining several YouTube vids on what 2.5D is and what details are required, it appears to be an extremely intensive manual process for use on a 2D image.

I struggle to comprehend the amount of work required to perform that process to a stereo PAIR without inducing obvious retinal rivalries and other stereo artifacts. Some elements in the pair would be treated identically in left and right views, while others would not be identical.

Just cloning the backgrounds in and of itself would produce obvious artifacts in a stereo image (unless they are at infinity, or better, featureless).

Not that it can't be done, but, Ouch!

That was my concern, @Turbguy. I never got hold of anyone who has made an attempt at this complex process. But I am going to give it a try. Will keep you posted if at all I make it through.

Thanks for your support though.
