Canon EOS Rebel T6i + the Amazon Rainforest for 7-8 weeks

Planning to pick up a T6i and a lens for my upcoming trip to Ecuador, however, someone brought up that humidity might be an issue. My question is that since I’m on a $1,000 budget, I don’t have enough money to buy a weather sealed camera along with a lens (which I’m guessing would be more for it to be weather sealed), would I have any major problems if I did purchase the T6i and I took it with me?

You can get a fixed lens G3X which is weather sealed like the 6D within the budget.

I have spent a lot of time in the Amazon and based on that experience I think that the T6i will be fine for the job as long as you are reasonably careful.  I usually carry a couple of plastic bags to put my camera in when it starts raining.  I hope you are planning on getting some sort of telephoto lens to use during your time there.
