I'm surprised to hear the SX730 has a tilt screen...somehow, I had thought it was fixed!

I think part of why it's confusing is there is no standard definition of terms such as "articulating", "fully articulating" etc.  Perhaps describing them will help more than using terms which don't yet have a clear meaning.   Here is a brief list of some current P&S cameras (I can't remember what g3x screen does):

sx720, g9xII - fixed

sx730 - tilts upward (i.e. for shots below eye level), flips upward for selfies

g7xII - tilts upward and downward (i.e for shots held over your head), flips upward for selfies

g5x, g1xIII - flips to the side, tilts upwards and downwards once "deployed", flips to the side for selfies

g3x - ?

A few shots that my wife took at a wildlife safari park yesterday. We had a bit of a showdown with the Rhino who was king of the road and didn't want to give it up. I would have been more comfortable in a tank rather than a car ha ha. The last 2shots (stills from a video actually) were taken through the windshield, thus the lack of color/contrast, etc.
