Video: GX8, 20mm F1.7 and lightning

I was too far away to capture most of the direct lightning, but anyone in central Texas this morning was in for one heck of a light show. There was non-stop lighting for hours on end.

I took a a bunch of photos, but of course I missed the focus on all of them which had any actual lightning visible.

The below video was recorded on my GX8 with a Pany 20mm F1.7 II @F1.7 with video ISO set to 3200. 4K @30fps. I am pleased with how well it coped with the huge changes in brightness.

Watching a science channel show last week, I learned that the earth is struck by about 100 lighting bolts per second. It seems most of them landed in Texas for a while there.

We saw a similar display driving into Luckenbach a few years ago. It seemed the heavens were telling us turn around and look back at Luckenbach.
