MY CAMERA'S POP UP FLASH IS NOT SYNC WITH THE SHUTTER

I HAVE A CANON DSLR 760D

THE CAMERA'S FLASH IT FLASHES BUT THE PHOTO IS STILL DARK. I THINK THE FLASH IS NOT SYNC WITH MY CAMERA ANY MORE.I HAVE ALREADY RESET ALL MY FLASH SETTINGS AND THE PROBLEM PERSIST. IF I USE AN EXTERNAL FLASH ON MY CAMERA ITS OK

IS IT THIS POSSIBLE MY CAMERA'S FLASH NOT BE SYNC WITH THE SHUTTER ANY MORE? AND HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM? WHAT IT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM

Canon EOS Rebel T6s (EOS 760D / EOS 8000D)

It's possible it's not working properly or you can adjust the in-camera flash.  See the internet for instructions if you don't know how to do that.  It's called flash compensation.  Also you can try increasing the ISO level and see if that helps.

Re: MY CAMERA'S POP UP FLASH IS NOT SYNC WITH THE SHUTTER

My guess would be that your aperture is either very small or your subject is far, or a combination of both. It's possible that your flash can't provide enough power. But, yeah, post samples with exif intact.

Is it like the flash is just helping to focus and switched off, otherwise ?

THE PROBLEM PERSIST AND WITH HIGH ISO. WHEN I PRESS MY CAMERAS BUTTON THE FLASH FLASHES AT WRONG TIME SO MY PHOTO IS UNDER EXPOSED. THE FLASH IS OUT OF SYNC WITH THE SHUTTER

IT FLASHES TO FOCUS AND THEN IT FLASHES AGAIN WHEN I PRESS THE BUTTON BUT THE PHOTO IS UNDEREXPOSED. THE FLASH DOESNT SYNCRONISED WITH THE SHUTTER

1. is the entire image illuminated  by the flash, or is only part of the frame illuminated?

2. what shutter speed, f-stop, and ISO setting do you have set, and how far away is your subject you're trying to illuminate?

Without seeing a sample photo, with EXIF, I'm just making guesses:

1) the most likely culprit from your descriptions is that you have the flash in wireless commander mode. The flash is firing to send a signal to an external unit, but with none present you end up with an underexposure.

2) The FEC may be dialled way down

3) Your aperture is too small to allow reasonable exposure with the onboard flash

4) Your subject is too far away to be well lit by the onboard flash.

Try 1/60 second shutter speed. Or 1/30

Does it sync with slow shutter speeds?

A sync failure will appear as a dark, almost black band in your photo. It's very noticeable.

Re: TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK

Yeah, seriously. We're going to need a picture with exif in caps.

Re: MY CAMERA'S POP UP FLASH IS NOT SYNC WITH THE SHUTTER

Hi

I had exactly the same issue after replacing the camera top cover assembly due to someone else having damaged the flash section. It seemed like the flash was out of sync with the shutter and then when it seemed to work okay, the image was underexposed. The issue was that the previous user of the camera had set the flash operation mode to "EasyWireless", once I had set it back to "NormalFiring", it works perfectly.

To get to the setting, turn the camera on, press the Flash button once to raise the flash, then press the Flash button again to get the Flash Control screen.  Then the first line has the settings for NormalFiring/EasyWireless/CustomWireless, just select NormalFiring.

Welcome to the forum.  You've replied to a 2 year old thread in which the OP never came back to indicate whether any of the suggestions helped, and never posted any sample pics.  My guess is the OP is long gone.
