40-150 2.8 on EM1- Mk2 Stuck on Manual Focus (MF)

I haven't used the 40-150 in a little while, and the EM1 works fine, focusing AF, with other lenses.

But when I put on the 40-150, it doesn't autofocus and the front panel keeps showing MF.

What could be causing this?

is the manual clutch engaged?

Well if it is the focus ring clutch being engaged you are going to feel a bit dumb :).

Yes, it was.

I'm an idiot. I hadn't used it in a while, and was used to seeing an AF/MF switch on a Panasonic. Once I moved the clutch, yes it worked.

Thanks!

Not an idiot. I do it all the time during weddings. The ring gets moved and in the heat of the moment I forget why it won't focus. Since I only use back button focus I never need an mf switch. On all my canon and Panasonic lenses the switch is taped down on AF. You can't do that with the 40-150. It the only thing that keeps it from being perfect.

I made that mistake fairly frequently; I posted a thread here. Now I have disabled it in the menu.
