Houston we have a problem

Unfortunately my NX3000 developed a crackling sound when recording video.  This appears both when playback on the camera, or when playing the video on Windows.

I guess it's not worth repairing and replacement costs are weirdly hi.

Any ideas? Time to move on? It's too bad I really liked it. Good quality for the money and nice and small. *sigh*

Thanks

I like mine too but I rarely use it since I bought my NX500. Send me a message if you are interested in buying the body. I won’t price it weirdly high.

Did you ask for servicing? Where do you live? What lens do you use? It could be something inside the lens? Have you tried with another lens?

The camera is good fun for the price, but with similar money, you can get a used NX300 which is a lot better in features, not so much in image quality, but everything else is vastly better.

I still have mine, just for the fun of it. Why sell it for 100euros, when it is a perfectly fine and capable little APS-C 20mgpxls camera and can put a small lens on it and forget about it. The build quality is great too. I think NX300 and NX3000 are sturdier than the NX500.

I took your advice and tried the Samyang 12/2 MF lens and no problem! So the audio path works.

So I then went back to the 16-50pz and thought maybe I had somehow set it up to some weird state and either the AF or OIS was in some mode where the system was weirding out.  So I tried setting this and that and then the noise was gone! So then I tried resetting it back to single AF and OIS mode 1 and the noise was still gone!

So maybe changing the lens a few times cleared or cleaned some electrical contact.

I'll keep using it and see if it's now working

Thanks everybody!

Glad you find a solution!

The PZ lens is a gem among the cheap NX lenses, one of the best of its kind in any system (and certainly cheaper), but the PZ system isn't very well protected by the elements, so it is very easily something to get into there. I wouldn't take that in the beach for starters!

Have fun.
