Nice are those branches green, or is that the undistorted color?

The first shot is a Beech tree, and its real bark colour is near to a neutral grey. However, the winter sunshine is orange and the combination of this and the lens gives very inaccurate colours.

I didn't try to correct the colour balance, because weird colours are part of the fun.

Its hard to tell, it looks like you are getting mostly spherical aberation, as tastefully executed as it is.

I think ideally I would use an aspheric lens possibly with a field corrector.  I'm not sure there aren't simple lenses out there that do this already.  I know the petzval and anastigmats didn't do any chromatic aberation, but they did correct coma and spherical aberration.

I was wondering if there are any lens that distortion colors on purpose to add color. I've seen the prism lens and filters, but I am thinking of something more like a fisheye lens than a lens ball. Specifically, not making multiple images or facets, but excentuating a normal image with CA.

I imagine soething could be achieved digitally by tweaking a CA correction the wrong way.

Dunno how it does for CA but it's kind of a cult thing. Thinking of getting one just for fun

It doesn’t do anything for chromatic aberration.
