Olympus FL-600 flash on OMD E-M1 Mark II issue

Hoping someone might be able to help here.  When I place the FL-600 flash on my OMD E-M1 Mark II it will not fire.  The flash is in TTL mode and displays changes in focal length.  If I turn the camera RC mode on the flash will work that way.

If I remove the flash and place it on my Pen E-P5 for a picture it works with no issue and if I move it from there back onto the Mark II it will work perfectly on the Mark II until I turn the camera off then it goes back to not working when I turn it back on.  The shutter is not on silent.  The flash that comes with the Mark II works fine.  I don't even know if this is a flash issue or camera issue?

Camera mode - Auto or M

Flash mode - Fill

Single picture mode, no pro or multiple

Flash is pushed all the way on

Not sure what serial shutter means

I had a similar problem with the EM-1 mk. 2 and Olympus FL-50R flash as well as the mini-flash that came with the camera.

If you are using electronic shutter, the flash will not fire. If you change to the mechanical shutter it works fine.

I found that tip in another thread on here but I am not using the electronic/silent shutter.  I am using the normal shutter and it does not fire.

when pressing the shutter is does not make a single "klick" it makes "klickklickklickklickklickklickklick...." and makes pictures as long as you pressed the shutter. In this mode flash is always off ... on every camera.

Try doing a setting reset on the em1 mkii. When quirky thing like this shows up a full reset does the trick.
