Getting close works wonders (bird pics)

Was fooling around trying to get some decent pics of the city dwelling birds. Got a bit lucky and could approach fairly closely. And the payoff was really nice. The amount of detail in the feathers is pretty impressive, especially considering that was ISO 800 with shadows pushed by about another stop. Really happy with those.

None were cropped much, maybe 10-15% to get a nicer framing and straighten out a bit.

Too bad about the blades of grass in front. Panny 100-300 II is really very good around this focal lengths, and it shows here.

300mm is less impressive, but still very nice.

very nice indeed, and the low angle and lush greens is great as well. Not always easy to get close, but it pays well

Getting close is the answer for sure. Excellent sharp details and nice angles as well. Very nicely done. Doesn't matter what focal length you use, always get close.

All the best and these are great to see.

Danny.

You should be! Wonderful detail in these cute birds. Well-done.
