One with the short lens $1600 for two months, guess it will come down. And tonight one with same lens for $1000, will check what happens. Same person the long lens for $700. Seller has not got any evaluation, and I'm not interested.

Hmm, the $1000 been there for 14 days.

And NX1 now $800. Guess no one will buy.

And today one NX500 with kit lens and 50-200. For $220! Gone in a few minutes. Usually around 500.

And one 85mm at 550. Seller says very few around. And very few will buy.

Happy Holidays everyone!!!

I'm still using my NX500!!! Lately though I find my self using for short videos, I still take images but videos seem to be more engaging. Plus no sorting thru hundreds/thousands of images trying to find the 'right one', going crazy with the pp. Short videos bypass all that. Plus I like the audio, hearing peoples voices adds to the memories

Very good! I often forget videos until it's too late. Not used NX500 much for that, but it's more than good enough. - Remember a procupine baby fooling aroung and the mother trying to steer it the right way... A 2005 compact did the job.

About 60% of the lowest I have seen before. Maybe of interest to someone in Scandinavia. I'm more after the best lenses...

Had to bump this thread, I am currently browsing this site for an nx1 and noticed that the same seller now sells all his gear. Do you think this is worth it?

If I get it delivered to a friend in Norway and they send the parcel forward to me (in UK), will I be charged VAT and custom charges?

I don't think you have to pay VAT as that only applies to new products. I'm not sure about customs charges though, given we're now out of the EU.

Thanks, I thought VAT will still apply. In any case that bundle above is listed at £2120.

no VAT, custom charges higher than airline ticket to Stavanger -- NX1 is not an upgrade to the NX500, it's a different 8-bit camera (for video) -- in 2021, £2K for 10-bit video ...

Just been on the phone with hmrc (they are also none the wiser) and also researched on their website. It appears that VAT is still applied and 0 custom charges. I don't know what to think anymore.

Oh.. that package was a huge bundle deal for £2k not just the body, but yeah I agree with you,  I've decided to spend less, get less and enjoy more. NX1 doesn't have crop which is an upgrade from nx500, plus the evf.

How about USA guys? HMRC says only VAT is applied with 0 custom tax for digital cameras. Can someone confirm?

There are quite a few upgrades in my opinion. No crop plus EVF as you've stated, but also DIS, 15fps, Gamma C/DR, 100/120FPS 1080p, built-in flash, 5ghz wifi, USB 3.0, support for faster memory cards..maybe I've missed some?

Having said that the NX500 is great and I'd recommend hacking it for unlimited recording time, and no crop 2k video.

If you should do this, your friend must really be sure of VAT and custom charges! Don't know much of sending of cameras, but people selling and buying records in Norway speak of special problems. We are not EU member, and lots of special rules and ways to get past them!

Had a discussion with this guy, seems ok. I wanted the 85 mm, gav a bid, no answer. Well...

NX500 is amazing, but NX1 is a pro camera in every sense. The upgrade is HUGE.

Did you care to check what was the bundle included?

To acquire all these on an RF you need a huge 5digit price, are you serious?

What cheap A7, Z and RF camera have uncropped 10bit video, or 10 bit?

You can get the bundle, and then a Pocket 6K and shoot 6K RAW, if that's your game, and then you still have money left to buy a small used car!

Also, have you noticed a lot of corporate and youtube videos on 10bit around?

NX is still amazing, and good enough for most.

I acquired the Pocket 4K for when I needed RAW/10bit, and still haven't used it yet..

I am liking the C70 though, but that is not a hybrid, and that is another discussion.

When it comes to 10bit/HDR I'm yet to get excited. I have viewed some HDR videos but I'm not wowed.

When it comes to 10bit/HDR I'm yet to get excited. I have viewed some HDR videos but I'm not wowed.

To be honest I upgraded everything for the last couple of years (PC, monitors, OLED TV, raw camera) to be ready for HDR, but still do not feeling it. I barely can see it in my OLED TV which was quite expensive anyway.

10bit provides a very good and "thick" video file that can be manipulated/tweaked quite nicely and without too much data needed and moderate computing resources. If anyone is serious about video is a must have on their camera, having said that, still haven't used the Pocket at all, probably for smaller/lighter projects do your best to get the most SOC, and 8bit is still enough for most (like 99% of the things!).

Maybe now with 5G and the next generation of things and connected everywhere, we will see a rise on video quality also, but on a smaller device (mobile phone, tablet) how much resolution and data one needs? I would guess similar with what we need today, for bigger screens, it is nice to see a better signal from Netflix/Amazon/HBO.
