Is a video usage poll like a selfie stick or monopod?

Used it last year for showing e-bay how I have been scammed. Didn´t have to post it. Photos did it for me, and I got my money back. That was only time I thought I need the video. It´s nice to have it as a backup, but If the camera would be cheaper, I could do with the old FullHD 30fps and move along. On the other hand, if the manufacturer would like to lure me on another purchase with video, they would need to step up the game. That is, 4K 30FPS with good bitrate as a total minimum, better 60FPS and more bitrate....

i did a poll shortly after the 6Dmkii came out with at least 1/2 a duzan questions  and it turned out that 85% dont use video or 1080p was fine for their use ...i did it open talk so it got an even amount of users from different brands

So you're saying that 100% of posters in a video community use video. That reminds me of the time I attended a philosophy conference, and was shocked to find it full of philosophers.

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.

the same as dpreview

I would think 100% of users shoot at least one still in the last 6 months unless he never used the camera lol

But if you used video so infrequently, why do you even need 4k?  You just said you used it to show to a video ebay (which you didn't even need in the end).  What else have you used video for in say the last 2 years?

Not quite. Read, reflect, and you'll see the difference. OK, I'll do it for you. dpreview is a photography forum, for discussing cameras that take both stills and video. You were talking about dedicated video forums. See the difference?

Taking this poll in a MILC forum will likely return more results toward video use than taking the poll in a DSLR forum.

That´s not how it works. It´s like they would lure me on cool feature, and I´ll be happy to start using it as a new part of my imaging hobby. I´m not likely to start with subpar video without future proofing.

YES!!   I have made many videos as well as thousands of photos with all my  (6) cameras!

I shoot with Fuji, Canon, Sony, and Panasonic.  I love and use all my cameras.

( I started photography at age 13 and movie making at age 15.   Today at age 80, still doing it all.)

as i say i did it in "open talk" forum so it should not have any biases between MILC and DSLRs or sony vs canon etc

I venture to say that taking this poll in a forum for MILCs that produce good quality video will likely return more results toward video use than taking the poll in the EOS-M  forum.

Don't forget about non-Europeans who have not reached the retirement age. Many of us shoot video on vacations, which in the US happen once in a year or two. When we do go on that 3-day cruise or a trip to Mt. Rushmore, we want all the video quality we can get. And that is not intended as a joke but rather to make a point.
