Lumix G7 LensMount and sensor are shaking

Hi, I bought a Lumix G7 from a friend (1 year ago).

I only own Nikon lenses so I bought a Metabones Speedbooster to mount them on my G7, and at the beginning the lens mount on the body of the camera was shaking slightly, but I didn't really thought much about it so kept on using the camera for a year, but now the Lens ring and the sensor are shaking as soon as I tilt the camera up or down or a lens is attached.I made a lottle Video so you can see how it looks like.

Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem? I already bought  smallrig cage to support my lenses but the Rig is kinda big and I want to take it on my next Trip

Oof.... Are those screws tight? It could be possible that there's internal frame damage or stripped screws/threads?

That's ugly.

Looks like the mount box unit is coming unscrewed. That is accessed (I think) from the rear of the camera. It isn't anything I'd leave for long as the fix might be relatively simple for those with the right skills, and the risk of further damage might be quite high.

See p8 and p47 of the service manual.

The mount: You might have a loose mount. Front heavy on using heavy lens or been hit hard before?

The sensor: Unlike the newer models which use floating IBIS sensor, I suppose the sensor of G7 should be seated firmly. If it becomes loose, your camera might be in serious trouble and I will start to look for a replacement.

If you looked at the link I provided, you would immediately see that the mount and sensor are assembled together as one unit (the mount box unit), this appears to be pre-calibrated and is installed as a sub-assembly.

That is why the sensor and the metal mount move together in the video. Neither the sensor or the mount are loose; the entire sub assembly is moving as one unit.

From: https://www.lifepixel.com/tutorials/infrared-diy-tutorials/life-pixel-panasonic-lumix-g7-diy-digital-infrared-conversion-tutorial

(which has a really excellent guide to complete disassemby)

Given the OP's comment about this slowly getting worse over time, I'd go for loose screws rather than some impact damage but who knows? Could be both, but the sensor box is pretty solid and has a metal back. There are 3 screws, and from the video it looks as if the top 2 screws are loose or missing. These screws are only 3 mm long, it isn't clear from the video if the unit pushes up hard against the screw heads or something else behind the box unit.

All the screws are tight, Maybe the screws broke inside of the metal ring.

It is not the screws that you can see that are the problem.

Hello, I have right now the same problem, I will try to fix it, should I open a new Thread?

I think that should be a common problem in the Lumix G7, loose screws, maybe something not hard enough is broken,.. who knows!

But from what I can see, it should be a cheap repair.

The camera has been fixed, as i said, some screw was off, they are really small so if you don't put any glue on it or you leave it very tight, it will be loose again.

Now the camera is working perfect and it feels more stable the lens finally.
