I love this lens!! is as sharp, compact as well built, works very good on the EOS M1, color rendition is fantastic. I give it 4.5 stars for lack of IS but you can't go wrong with this for just $130 --->>

Just curious but  why didn't you go for the eos M 22mm f2 given that you're using an M1 ?

It's nice and small and makes my 80D easy to drag around...but I don't find the iq any better than my 18-135 stm...

Somehow i had this lens before the M1 new for 125, then found the m1 body only for just 150, then got the ef-m 18-55mm for just 95, now i want the 22mm as well but is 170 used or 200+ new, i will get it later but the  M1 is my secondary body it can wait, all in all this 24mm 2.8 is one of my favorite lenses and i can use it for video on my sony system as well.

It is a great lens for walking around, tiny and makes the camera very light.  I agree the IQ isn't going to blow anything out of the water but for $125 you can hardly go wrong.  I've heard it described before that it punches way above its weight class.

So nice of Canon huh?   I got the same deal on mine, bought a cleaning cloth for a few bucks just to clear the $100 free shipping amount.

Agree, for the price it's hard to beat and makes it lots easier to take the dslr with you. Just wish we could take advantage of the canon refurb here.

You're probably right, but being a prime i still find IQ and sharpness a hair better than kit lens, i might buy the 40mm 2.8 someday too, is a good focal length with semi-fast aperture at about same price

I don't have the 18-135 but i would be surprised if the 24 wasn't sharper. It is certainly sharper than the 18-55 that I have (older version).

The 40mm on FF is sharper than the 24-105 for instance, and IQ is similar to the stellar 16-35F4L.

And it is great to walk around with. I don't use a mid range zoom at all when I travel. Just UWA and telephoto with the 24mm in between.

Is the 18-135 still f/3.5 at 24mm?
