Re: Fujifilm X-T2 in Iceland

Lovely photos - thanks for sharing them! I really want to visit, but I have very little vacation time so I will have to squeeze in a long weekend when I am in transit to somewhere else, like a long layover. Any recommendations for getting the most out of a couple of of days?

Thanks, Don

Thank you

Honestly, a couple of days in Iceland would be hard 😅

What you can do is just rent a car from the airport and cruise around the country..

That's what we did, roamed around and stopped every 5 or 10 minutes to take photos.

Iceland is such a place where you must stop every now and then and witness the beauty of the mounains and vast landscapes.

Checking out waterfalls is also a must, but they get very crowded

To really explore Iceland you need a lot of time and preferably you should come during different seasons but for a short stopover "The Golden Circle Tour" one-day tour by bus offers a nice introduction to Iceland.

You will see Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir and a lot of beautiful landscapes. The second day you could explore Reykjavik and even have some time for a 30 mile trip to enjoy a thermal bath in the Blue Lagoon.

Both these tour are very touristy, but for a reason and you will not need a car.

If you want something less touristy for a 1-2 day tour I would suggest renting a car for a trip to Snaefellsnes or to Vik.

Regards,

Rolf

Thank you! I will certainly explore these options.

Thank you for the advice. I hope that I can make it next year.

Thank you, truly appreciate it

My friend had to run into the sandstorm in order for me to get a Blade Runner (ish) type of shot.

Believe it or not, the place on it's right was completely clear.

That's how magical Iceland is

For the 90mm, I actually used it for close ups

great photos!

do you really only used the 90 for close ups? what do you think about the 90mm as a lightweight travel telephoto lens?

Thank you

Yes, I only used the 90 for the close ups because it was the longest range lens I had with me at the time in Iceland.

It surprisingly did a fantastic job at that
