Too many lenses?

A little while back I had got into the habit of lenses for this system, and at one point nearly had them all. Thankfully I saw sense and sold some that I wasn't using much (16mm,20mm,12-24mm, 50-200mm and samyang 12mm).

I'm still left with a fair few lenses, many of which don't seem to get used that much. For example the 16-50mm is more or less glued to the nx1 and I tend to use the nx500 with the 30mm when I need to go compact or else the pz 16-50mm when I'm shooting video.

I'd like to make use if my other lenses more but often space is an issue and changing lenses is a bit of a pain.

What are your experiences. By the way, I'm not a pro and mostly take photos of my kids, although I'd like to improve my photography skills and widen my subject type .

I have 8, 12, 16, 30, 45 and 85 for Samsung NX. Recently sold only 60mm macro, because I was not using it at all. I like primes and those are not too many for me

I also have 10+ lenses for my Canon DSLR, now I try to reduce some of them.

I also have the 60mm and have contemplated selling it but resisted. It also doubles as a great portrait lens  although admittedly poorer than the 45mm or 85mm.

I have all of them and plan to keep all of them. I considered selling the 50-200 but I like it when I'm going light and I'm quite surprised at how good my copy is. For a "kit" lens it's awfully good and I have no qualms about using it when I need a telephoto in my light bag.

The biggest issue with the 60 is the same problem as the 85: slow focus. it works great as a macro because of manual focus but it's not so easy to use for other subjects. Still, it's a very sharp lens.

I had a decent copy of the 50-200mm as well but still opted to sell as I had the 18-200mm, which I find more convenient. I know the reviews of the 18-200mm are negative but I've been quite pleased with the results and it's great having that range of focal lengths.

My copy of the 18-200 is pretty bad and I can't use it for anything other than video. I wish I could say it is usable because the range is great but it just doesn't cut it for stills. And the focus is amazingly fast which makes me want to love it but I can't.

I don't think my copy is any better to be honest but for me the tradeoff is worth it. I use it mainly for video and the autofocus is great, I also manage to pull some good stills from the footage and I'd say they were usable for my usage.

Same here, for both lenses.

The 18-200 is laughable, sometimes I just can't believe how bad it is - even in video, especially in the two extremes, but surprisingly fast touch AF for video, and the range is good occasionally.

The 50-200 until 150-160mm is amazing for the size and price. I do not usually use tele lenses, but this one is so cheap, and so good, that is good to have. I have seen quite a few copies of the 50-200, and all of them were good.

I just wish I had every lens. Certainly the 50-150, but the price is too much for a lens I may use only a few times per year, maybe less!
