Lens

i just brought omd em5 mark ii. Now i need a lens. I want a small/pancake lens. I shot potrait, nature, landscape. I use for travel too. I confused between Panasonic 20mm f1.7 II, Olympus 17mm f2.8, Olympus 25mm f2.8, Olympus 14-42mm f3.5-5.6, Panasonic 14mm f2.5, and Panasonic 12-32mm f3.5-5.6.

what will “you” choose between all that lens?

or maybe you know other good lenses?

Thank You.

If you want pancake, and only one lens, then definitely the 12-32. However, everyone is different and so you will get a bunch of different answers and neither of them may be worth much to you. Just depends a lot on your shooting style and subject matter.

Portrait and landscape requires different FL. If you want both FL in one pancake, then you have to go with Pany 12-32 or Oly 14-42. Both got slow f stops, which you will have to give up a lot of DOF control.

As for primes, you can't go wrong with 20mm f1.7 most general use, add an 45mm f1.8 and you will be set for portrait.

+1

Remember, (admitting there is often copy-to-copy variation) Panasonic kit lenses are sharper than Olympus equivalents.  And 17f2.8 has an awful reputation.

If I were to choose only one lens, it would always be a zoom.  I don't like the restriction of a single focal length.  My first m43 lens was the Olympus 12-40mm 2.8.  I own several zooms and seldom use my fixed-focal-length lenses.
