Badly let down - unless I'm doing something wrong?
1

Hello everyone,

I purchased this camera recently and still have time to send it back within the 30 days. I'm very happy with the image quality, build, lens adaptor etc., however, I cannot seem to get it to shoot remotely with the Canon app on my iPhone.

It may be I am doing something incorrectly so I am reaching out to the more experienced M3 users and owners for their help.

If it doesn't shoot remotely, I'm sending it back for a refund...

Thank you very much

Dan

I know with the M5 you must use the 'Canon Connect" app, on bluetooth (phone and camera) and the phone must be visible to other devices

I don't have any problems with remote shooting through Canon Connect on an Android phone (WiFi connection). What exactly doesn't work for you? Can you connect the phone to the camera? Does your app see the camera? Can you view photos?

Thank you, i have found an app that works well with both iPhone and M3. On the app store called 'Cascable.'

I'm currently trialling a version but it looks capable as it has an intervalometer and will work with more than just the M3.

Thanks again

I use the pro version of Cascable and have no issues connecting to an iPad. What exact issue are you having?

someone on this forum mentioned the  Cascable app -  said it's better than the Canon Connect   (can transfer raw files and do other things)

guess I'll have to check it out
