I disposed of 2 Rebels, which I liked because I discovered that several lenses were actually front/back focusing rather than lens IQ issues. I discovered this when live view become good enough for at least test shots. LV pics were sharp. Viewfinder shots were off. I then bought a 70D and tried adjusting lenses that didn't match LV with viewfinder. My STM lenses seemed to be spot on when viewed at 100% in DPP. The problem lenses were an older, but mint 70-200 f4 L and 100-400mm L, mk1 and 15-85mm. The first lens was backfocusing at W and T. The second was front focusing. The last lens was also front focusing. I used sharply defined buildings and signs for the 2 telephoto lenses and the Lens Align target for the 15-85. After adjusting, I went out a took a variety of pics using LV and FV. If the pics were identical, then task accomplished. Everything was shot at wide open, but I rarely shoot wide open. A rather annoying and tedious task but better than sending gear to Canon. If I had a laptop, I would buy the software than can automate the process. I do believe Canon could do more to make the MFA process easier and simpler and should include it on Rebels, which I would no longer buy. Currently, I also use the M5 and mirrorless eliminates these issues.

Re: Do you microadjust your lens?

My Sigma 35 Art worked well on my 6D at medium range distance, but focus at infinity and wide open was a bit off. I never found it an issue because I shoot wide open only on closer distance and infinity more from 2.8 upwards.

However, I recently bought the Sigma Dock and did a full calibration. It took me about an hour for all distance brackets to compare live view with the normal AF. I had to dial in +10 to +14 corrections on all distances which surprised me.

I haven't corrected my 2 L lenses and the other Sigma 85/1.4 EX. They all seem fine and I am not paranoid to check them all.

Re: Do you microadjust your lens?

My 18-35mm definitely needs adjustment but I I mostly set my exposure/focus in Live View anyway so in general it doesn't bother me. I also have a very used Sigma 85mm that I got for a steal of a price but has a really scratched front element so it exhibits horrific chromatic aberration. It also sucks at focusing through the OVF but I don't know if that's due to the scratched element or if it just needs AFMA, but again I just use it with LV and it focuses just fine in there.

I know it's something I should do but since I shoot a lot on my tripod it hasn't really bothered me too much yet

Re: Do you microadjust your lens?

Yes, I do now.

Last year, I bought a back up camera to use as a remote in a situation where focus wasn't critical.  So, I didn't bother.

Then last month, I used it in a different situation.  Sure enough, it was front focusing and caused me to miss a couple of shots.  . . . I'm pulling out the target and working on it today.

I usually do not shoot smaller f number than 2.8 with my full frame camera. I also do not pixel peep. So do not feel the need for MFA.

Re: Do you microadjust your lens?

Yes I do. I've found MFA to be critical for me.  I've managed to make most of my lenses focus better with it, some lenses brought it back from 'unusable' status. My old 80-200L has severe back focus on every body I've ever put it on. On a 5D it was terrible because of this, downright unusable unless shooting at f8. On newer bodies I can make adjustments and it works beautifully.

Most of my lenses have benefited from MFA corrections. Some only need a little, some need more, but now I absolutely will not buy a DLSR that lacks this feature.

Yes, but fear not, MFA can only get better (more automatic) over time and no enthusiast/pro cameras will ever get without MFA.
