what's your experience buying a refurb from canon?

i'm looking at a refurb T6s directly from canon.  my previous canon refurb experience wasn't ideal, but it wasn't terrible, either.

so i'm wondering  - have you bought a refurbished camera directly from canon?  if so, what was your experience - was the camera in good working order?  if not, did they take care of any issues in a timely fashion?

I've only bought refurb lenses but never had a problem.  Its coming from Canon and gets a 1 year warranty so there really shouldn't be too much risk.

I purchased the original EOS-M from the Canon refurb store when it was available in Canada, alas we no longer have it.  The Camera was perfect and has worked very well ever since.  I would buy from the refurb store again if I could.

I have always had good experiences with their refurb store. I have bought different lenses in the past, and in December I bought the 77d which I am very happy with. I would gladly buy from there again .

I bought my T6S and my 80D, plus at least six different lenses from the Canon refurb store. All were in like new condition, both cosmetically and functionally, and all included all factory documentation.  I never needed to use the one year warranty they came with, since I never had any issues with any purchase.

I recently bought a Nikon P900 from Nikon's refurb store.   That camera came with absolutely no documentation, and had a defective lens.  Nikon does not do in house repairs, so it went out to an authorized service center.  They were good, and I got the camera back quickly with a replaced lens.  Overall, I was not impressed with Nikon and can't believe any testing was done to this camera before it was repacked as a refurb.

All completely flawless. I even got a refund of $50 when the price of one of the SLs dropped less than 2 weeks after I bought it.

It's the only way I buy Canon gear.

My one experience is that  they don't deliver. I bought a T7i+lens from a particularly good offer, received a confirming email, then later was told it was back-ordered with no stated time for being in stock. That was three months ago and I still have no T7i.

Thanks to Stan in NH above, I also purchased an 80D refurb and same story looked and worked like new and still does so far.

Have bought quite a bit and have never had an issue.

Sure is and I haven't scratched the surface yet on all its features and I use it at least 3 days a week lol

guess i'll put my SL1 and kit lens and some swag up on CL and then throw in the difference and get the refurb T6s - i had a LOT of fun when i rented it, and at the moment can't swing the 77d - maybe later, though
