Just out of curiosity, why do you find the original M too annoying to use ?

wake up time...its faster  to switch it of and on again  if you think wake up time is ok then its not a sleap just the LCD is off ..

shutter lag i have missed many shots with wake up and shutter lag .. touch shutter on the LCD is much faster than the real one

there are numerous other thing that are annoying but its so long since i use it i have forgotten ...but the M 2 is way less annoying  and better AF and more snappy all around much less black out time   .the M feels nicer to hold than the m2..my M is a matte finish so a bit more grippy to hold than my shiny M2 ..the M2 is a little smaller ..not enough so it fits in pockets any better but enough so not as nice to hold ..the M should have been like the M2 at launch..the M2 should've had the 70D DPAF

There is no argument for FF vs APS-c (or m43) with shallow DOF..as it's a law of physics and a very subjective personal thing if you want to make use of the shallow DOF only FF can offer

Granted, such sensor won't be Full Frame,

but larger than the current APS-C, enough to cover the 3 most common aspect ratios. 3:2, 16:9 4:3. A more efficient use of the image circle.

The enlarged sensor

major benefits are Lossless Aspect Ratios Crops, all your lenses will capture wider views when using 16:9 in Landscape and wider 4:3 views in Portrait than the current standard sensor.
The other major benefit would be 30 megapixels pictures when using EF lenses, with less crop factor while maintaining the current sensor pixel density, which would make it easier to get shallower DOF.

Would you be interested is such camera if the premium extra to pay is, lets say US $100 ?

Not sure where you dreamed up this bigger image sensor idea 🙄

Probably from GH5S Multi-aspect sensor's review.

This is not new nor my idea and many cameras have used this approach for years, even Canon itself.

Its all about efficiency, versatility and quality, capturing some of the 40% wasted image, lenses are able to produce.

Re: Extended M series

Thanks for the reply. Can't say that I've had issues like those that you encountered but it is bit a bit slower to operate than a DSLR . It's not my go to camera but coupled with the 22mm lens it's capable of producing outstanding images.
