Re: Solid L-Bracket from China

Looks great. Can you change the battery with it on?

Yep.  Full access to the battery and all ports.

Re: L Bracket for M5 / M6

This is off topic but I wondered what was involved in modifying the Black Rapid strap to use the MagPul connector?  I don't have a Black Rapid strap and use the heavy strap I got from RRS with the MagPul.  I would prefer to use a Black Rapid strap but wasn't sure if the conversion was feasible.

BR straps are set up as a continuous loop. Somewhere in the strap the two ends are sewn together. To remove the supplied connector and install the Magpul, you'll need to separate the sewn ends, make the swap, then re-sew the ends. I used my wife's seam ripper from her sewing supplies to separate the sewn ends (X-acto or razor blade should work too). Before starting, make sure you take note of how the strap threads through the several adjustment pieces so you can duplicate the setup (I took photos to avoid any confusion).

Once reassembled, you can use a dab of glue and a clamp to temporarily hold the ends together. Next, you need to re-sew the ends. My wife said the material and thickness was beyond the limits of her sewing machine, so I went to a boat canvas/sail repair shop to have the strap sewn. Took them about a minute and they charged $2. Any place with a commercial quality sewing machine should do.

Thanks Steve.  This was very helpful but also confirmed my thinking that the only way to modify the Black Rapid strap was to take it apart.  I may do so, at some point, following your directions.

Re: L Bracket for M5 / M6

Sorry for raising a zombie thread... Came across it randomly.

Theres other threads about it, but SmallRig have launched a cage for the M6/M3, it has ARCA mounts on two sides as well as a cold shoe mount on the side, so that an external mic doesn't interfere with the flip up screen.

It might be overkill, but I have it on my M6 for the past week and quite like it. Fits perfectly without modification.

I’m looking for a L-bracket for a Canon M50. Will this bracket work?
