sooc jpeg comparison between S5pro, and the new x-t2 or x-t20

Between my Sony A6000 and Fuji S5 pro, I still prefer the S5pro sooc jpeg even though its such a hassle to use.  Its just so slow.  I really hope Fuji can come out with an update to the amazing S5pro, but they probably won't.  Is the x-t2 or x-t20 close to what the s5pro can do sooc?

That may be primarily a matter of judgement and taste. While the X-T2 has ten years of technological advancement, you are totally part of the S5Pro and it is part of you. While it is possible that the X-T2 may blow you away with the first SOOC JPEG, the fact that it is unlikely to have the same rendering as a decade ago will be unlikely.

That said, the contemporary camera has a wide range of adjustments to fine-tune image quality plus it has a wide-range of film simulations. Even better, these can be applied AFTER the exposure! Furthermore, you can try settings without limitation, saving each attempt if you wish until you have an image that meets your taste. All this can be done in-camera.

Once you find a combination that meets your taste, you can apply the settings to the camera itself, and this is what it will deliver every shot. Fuji X-camera image quality draws great admiration from photographers and reviewers and provokes trolls about out of their minds.

It's pretty unlikely that Fujifilm will update the S5pro as that was a Fujifilm sensor in a Nikon body and the current range are Sony sensors in Fujifilm bodies...

Anyway!

What settings do you use for jpegs?  The X series have really good film Sims so if you are liking things like the Velvia simulation for SOOC jpeg you will find similar ouput but with a lot more pixels.

What isn't as easy to find is jpegs that have that balance of soft highlights and detailed shadows in high dynamic range scenes - the S5Pro is spectacular at that.  It also has a very cinematic and film like feel to the ouput.

However with the X series if you shoot raw plus jpeg you can play with the jpeg ouput in camera and might be able to get some presets (in camera) that you like as much as your current output then just run with that!

As for speed - I don't remember much being slow about it, the 11 AF points might be a hindrance if you're used to modern AF selection and possibly the image review is a bit slow by today's standards but in actual operation I always found it a quick camera with dedicated controls for lots of functionality.
