Gh4 Camera + Olympus 12mm (t2.0): How can I use repeatable focus?

Hi there!

I have a problem with repeatable focus when using my GH4 with all my lenses (Olympus 12mm t2.0;  lumix 25mm t.14;  olympus 45mm t1.8).

The problem is, if I switch off the camera and switch it on again, I lose my focus point. (I am in Manual Focus all the time). This is very annoying, because the option that is left is not switching off, and that consumes the battery...

When I bought the lenses, I thought they had a focus rig and that would give me repeatable focus.

Is there any setting I should adjust?

I am going to shoot a documentary and I am thinking of borrowing Samyang lenses (16mm and 24mm t2.2) and use them with an adaptor I bought for 12 euros. Do you think this is better than my set of lenses? at least I could repeat the focus...

Thanks for the help!

Best

Vanessa

Have you checked if this behavior is governed by a 'lens reset' option in your camera (i.e. lens is reset to infinity when camera is turned on)?  This phrase is what Olympus uses, the option may have a different name in Panasonic cameras. I'd just search the user guide PDF for the word 'infinity'.
